There are all kinds of scam tech support stealing computer users’ money, most of scam are carried out via phone call and spam popup ads. Recently, 844-707-8026 popup is one of the tricky spam ads designed to swindle people into purchase of expensive and risky PC tech service. Many victims with limited PC knowledge were scammed by 844-707-8026 virus, some PC users with rich PC skills and knowledge did not fall for it, but all have trouble to delete 844-707-8026 popup from coming up on their web browsers, and it is causing more problems to their machines:
Two days ago, when I opened up Edge and i found it is infected an extremely bothersome 844-707-8026 Popup malware. I get a page with audio telling me to contact Windows with 844-707-8026 phone number, click here and there, don,t do use the computer for any banking or bill paying, etc.,etc. Edge is unusable. I have ran different virus and malware checks including Defender. I cleaned up the HD, restarted and shut down the machine and it is still there. I have no idea how deep it is in my system. Help please.
When I tried importing my bookmarks from Chrome to Edge, a new screen appears, loud alarm saying Defender has found spyware, trojans, and potential dangerous problems, call 844-707-8026 to remove threat, was labeled Windows Network Defender, would not let me leave page now locked out, password reset!!!!! Suggestion on how to get back to my computer? This is for 8.1-10 post upgrade problem. Says my password not correct, can’t turn it on to fix, what goes????
